50 SHADES OF C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N

50 SHADES OF C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N

50 SHADES OF GREY IN CORRUPTION50 SHADES OF GREY IN CORRUPTION

A friend of mine raised an important point yesterday for analysis ie is it not wickedness that some people can habitually overlook the poor, even snigger at them, and instead give money to the rich, in the name of charity?

This triggered off a train of thought leading me to confirm this is one of the shades of grey in corruption and that this is unfortunately becoming a culture. There are other shades just like THE 50 SHADES OF GREY, they are subtle, even subliminal and not very clear to recognise as corruption in most cases.

Here are my first 25 of them, perhaps you AGREE and/OR you can suggest the other 25.

P.S. Don’t be surprised if you identify some of them in yourself.

At least in your quiet time, you can make a decision to CHANGE!!! lol

1. Flattering people for what they have to give you.

2. Only giving to those that can blow your trumpet …

3. One standard for your friends and family, and another standard for outsiders.

4. Giving employment to unqualified relatives – Nepotism. For e.g. ….

5. Hoarding goods and services to create artificial inflation

6. Refusing to condemn what is bad, due to pride. For e.g. all the blamers who refuse to call Nigerian perennial failure of leadership and instead focus on colonial masters, as architect of our failure. As if we are doomed, and other nations were not colonised.

7. Covering up for the corrupt, because it puts food on your families table, regardless of the families of those it takes food from their table. … For example all PA’s and top employees of Nigerian governors, legislators, Judges, Ministers, commissioners, the same also goes for clergy!!

8. Favoritism … All the people who kill meritocracy, and overuse connections to get appointment and give appointment to people know can’t do the Job.

9. Dismissive attitude towards what you know is ideal and right. All those who stay silent, or are despondent, or are hardened towards whats going on in their fatherland.

9b. Apathy, For e.g. its not my problem, doesn’t concern me and short-sighted people, not seeing how this affects them in the long run, who don’t realise we are all connected and that with 6 degree of separation we can change the homeland, or the homeland can change us.

10. Disunity, refusing to unite, and support good causes, because you don’t trust others, and perhaps you refuse to trust yourself too.

11. Bribing your way past traffic police or ticket inspectors. For e.g. …

12. Forging of documents, because you believe this is really important, and its nothing compared to what grand forgery and theft has happened.

13. Being an opportunitist seizing opportunity to be greedy and selfish, because you believe others have had their chance and taken it.

14. Use bad situations as example, for reason to do bad things to get supposedly good results.

15. Being partial or biased and not seeing anything wrong with it.

16. Entertaining liars and rumor mongers, in the name of good humor.

17. Silence and cowardice to injustice. ALUU4 is one example, but so are all the people dying in hospital in Nigeria, simply because it doesn’t affect your health directly NOW! Those dying on the roads. Those activists imprisoned falsely and against human rights. Those politicians who did the right thing, but get no recognition. For e.g. Prof. Ambrose Alli

18. Paying too much attention to titles, rather than what the Titled has done. Most non traditional chief’s, Dr’s, Prof’s, Engr’s, Barristers, Pastors, Revd, Sheikh’s, Alhaji’s; who have the title prefixed in their name, even when not addressing a group of people of professional relevant and targetted audience.

19. Associating with the corrupt, and not blowing the whistle on them. For e.g. Most political wannabe’s/Sycophants

20. Readily attending social gatherings, but reluctantly agreeing to gather for social justice.

21. Going to church or Mosque or other and not practicing the principles of what you preach, not bearing good fruit, evident in your community. MORAL BANKRUPTCY!

22. Wearing too much bling and effects to create false impression. Seemingly making vanity a virtue.

23. Ojigijigi or in bini we call it Olighlighi or in english is called purposeful and organised CHAOS (Thank you Ruby)

24. Eye service – Doing things, so can be seen doing it only, but not for the principle of diligence behind it.

25. Its not my responsibility, its the governments responsibility. Without asking who make up the government.

My friends thanks for contributing your thoughts on this. But above all thanks in advance for sharing as well. Because using the 6 degrees of separation, even all the people tagged in this note publication, can change the fatherland for the better, just by SHARING and or TAGGING your friends, to keep the message going. Facebook is a godsend, when you compare what opportunity to change things NOW, unlike before its advent.

SO THESE ARE MY FIRST 25 SHADES OF GREY IN CORRUPTION, PERHAPS YOU AGREE AND CAN SUGGEST THE OTHER 25??

That would be remarkable on my part! I hope you have watched the video (Jonathan as at August 2015 was owing Fuel importers between 500 to 600 billion naira!). What ave you got to say about that?

Do you recall my Facebook Article / Note “50 Shades of Corruption”?
Well this is Part 2 to that article.
Waheed covers all the shades of corruption to the “T” and succinctly explains why Nigeria’s pseudo economy is crashing and the subsequent wailing as Buhari cuts off the Corruption network and money flow pathways.
