Formulating standards for meritocracy

Boosting our MeritocracyLETS FORMULATE A NIGERIAN STANDARDS AND MERITOCRACY POLICY?

We need to formulate an educational curriculum on FORESIGHT so we can create room for meritocracy and nationalism over tribalism !!!

This is vital or Nigeria will never really realise her best potential when we rotate the presidency, senate presidency or any position for that matter.

Rather i will suggest that we through Buhari come up with an equitable system of national leadership merit. A standard that is acceptable to all 9jrns. A leadership merit system that magnifies national affiliation over tribal affiliation.

With technology this is very possible, and this will be a great legacy if Buhari can pull it off.

I guess we can start with what we have now, for instance we have a standard for entering universities that is nationwide (JAMB). Admission for particular degrees is based on score of the candidate. Now we can use this as a metaphor?

Because just like Buhari presidency is manifesting due to the Nigerian people desperately wanting change, we also have to give him something to work with, if and when we are asked for superior proposals. The system won’t change itself, we have to make it change.

We have won the BATTLE for good leadership, but now the WAR for good followership has just begun!

Your thoughts my erudite friends?

Monday Osaigbovo Agbonze Greg Ekhator…..I concur. It’d be an arduous task to get the real powers that be to sign up to this, but it is a must if we are to truly realize our great potential as a nation. We spoke about something like this some years ago via Skype, remember? Good you rekindled it at this point in time, coz it may be now or never. Well done!!!

Greg Ekhator Monday Osaigbovo Agbonze, yes indeed! Cheers!
I believe just like GMB has emerged the next president, providence will make it such that the best proposals for 9ja will be sought out from 9jrns. It will happen because necessity is the mother of invention.

Tony Ahabue Greg Ekhator, I strongly believe the idea of tribal affiliation in our national politics has done more harm than good. The idea of meritocracy is worth exploiting. The process of vetting, etc could be a challenge, though. But if well packaged, it will encourage good governance!

Every leadership skill should be grouped in a category of skills, and then a standard specified for minimum competence.

Lawale Adewoyin I know it was the fear of the noose around their knecks, that was why the wagged a campaign war against Buhari. Unless there are new laws, then his hands are tied. Its not going to be easy, but he has to do it. Corruption can be dealt with with laws and consequences. Tribalism and nepotism is the serious knot. Why cant I work and live anywhere and claim son of the soil?
