PROPOSAL DOCUMENT FOR CHANGING SHIFTING NIGERIA IDEOLOGY AND POLITICS TO FIRMLY ONE OF ISSUE BASED POLITICS

PROPOSAL DOCUMENT FOR CHANGING SHIFTING NIGERIA IDEOLOGY AND POLITICS TO FIRMLY ONE OF ISSUE BASED POLITICS – UPDATE 1 (06.02.2012)

My people I am not a politician, however it is clear we have

concerns the way democracy is practiced in Nigeria, and we can

either continue criticizing it or come up with bullet point

proposals and examine them until fully thought-out, from

execution to benefits; and then actually execute them.

The current Occupy Nigeria movement is an opportunity to inject

change into the system for the our NEW NIGERIA’s longterm good.

Nigeria political atmosphere can be categorised as this:

Those in favour of:

1. Home grown solutions, bottom up

vs

International, top down solutions

2. Central government

vs

Federal government, State goverment based approach

3. Religion influenced policy of govt,

vs

separation of religion and state matters

4. The recent anti-gay marriage bill, has fully injected itself

into and thus divided us, as for who is

for gay marriage

vs

and who is against, and therefore, reflects family values factor

to the electorate.

5. Holding onto our indigenous cultures, even going back to our

ethnic ways

vs

Refining our indigenous ways in light of new knowledge and making our ethnic ways work better for us.

6. Opening our markets (as is now)

vs

closing our markets to international trade, like China did for a while.

All of these translate into bread and butter issues, industry and per capita income, when broken down to the implementation of the ideology.

There may be other issues that can be crystallized from our

thought patterns, but this is a start, and i suggest we improve

on this, and republish for agreement once a week, until we have

an agreement of the NEW NIGERIA ISSUE BASED POLITICS AND

IDEOLOGY!

Note: There may already be initiatives or existing documents like

these, if these be the case lets improve or synergise until we

get an even better working document/plan, to ensure thought-out

change happens.

Many thanks!

(Original by Greg Ekhator for delibration & refinement,

We Nigerians should hold our leaders accountable instead we fight and argue along regional and ethnic lines . The insincerity of the leadership in Nigeria is a major problem. They ride on the powerlessness of the society.
